Sphonic works with a variety of different client types, given the flexible nature of its products and services.
These include:

Direct Clients - Bank

Our banking clients primarily use our Workflow Manager & AML Manager products.
For WFM all of our banking clients use us for either Consumer Accounts Applications (Globally and across all channels)or Business Account Applications.
In both cases Traditional Identity Checks to fulfil KYC (know your customer) are completed within the workflows including PEP & Sanction Checks. Additionally the majority also use Fraud & Risk Management Vendors in the single on-boarding workflow with the aim of proving:

  • a customer exists
  • a customer resides where they claim
  • a customer is the age they claim
  • a customer is not on a Sanctions list
  • identification if a customer is a PEP
  • anti impersonation checks to identify if the applicant is the named individual

Some of our banking clients also use our Anti Money Laundering Transaction Monitoring solution to meet their regulatory requirements.

Direct Clients - Money Transfer Businesses


Our Money Transfer clients primarily use our Workflow Manager & AML Manager products as with banking.
WFM is used for many use cases including registration of both consumers and businesses including KYC & Fraud & Risk checks primarily via web based registrations.
Additional workflows are deployed to manage real time transaction screening requests for fraud & risk management including account
Money transfer clients also use our AML Txn monitoring solution to screen transactions inline with the regulatory policies.

Direct Clients - emoney institutions

Our emoney clients primarily use our Workflow Manager product.
WFM is used for many use cases including registration of consumers inline with emoney regulations to a regulatory level of RDD (Reduced due diligence).
As a customers transaction levels increase WFM is used to increase their status to CDD (full customer due diligence at Bank Grade level) and where appropriate to perform EDD (Enhanced due diligence).
Additional use cases include account profile edits such as online requests to change address or contact details as well as perform real time fraud & risk screening on transactions.

Direct Clients - Online Loans

Our online loan clients primarily use our Workflow Manager product.
WFM is used for many use cases including the application for loans from retail consumers inline including KYC, Risk & Credit checks.

Direct Clients - P2P Payments

Our P2P payments clients primarily use our Workflow Manager product.
WFM is used for initial registrations providing risk and KYC checks and the on going payments themselves

Direct Clients - Mobile Payments

Our Mobile payments clients primarily use our Workflow Manager product.

Where consumers are continually authenticated by their device for transactions is is of paramount importance to ensure it is the named individual being associated with the device at the outset.

Our online Trading clients primarily use our Workflow Manager product.
WFM is used for initial registrations providing risk and KYC checks and to provide data in relation to fraud & risk management checks required during on going “trade” requests themselves.
